MLB Transactions

We here at RotoPicks.com devote all of our time to figuring out which players are best to draft for your daily fantasy baseball leagues. Needless to say, we don't have time to be updating MLB transactions. So... We're leaving that up to the big boys as they have people working around the clock to update this information. Updating MLB transactions is a full-time job and we would prefer to put all of our resources into making picks to help you win your daily fantasy baseball leagues. We may eventually provide you with our own transactions feed, but for the time being, we are comfortable letting these prominent sites provide MLB transactions information for you.

Listed below, you'll find a list of the best sites offering up-to-date Major League Baseball transactions which include free agent signings, releases, trades and injuries.

RotoWorld MLB Transactions - We love RotoWorld's transactions page because it is one of the few that actually has a descriptive blurb talking about the transaction. Also very useful, on the right menu, you can quickly see the MLB headlines as well as the trending players. Basically, it exists so you cannot miss a beat!

CBS Sports MLB Transactions - We love the CBS Sports transactions page too! You have the MLB score ticker up top, and the transactions below, starting with the most recent. One of their unique and very useful tools is the free agent tracker, so you can stay up to date with all of the studs that are looking for a home. They also provide a trade tracker, which lists all of the trades, as well as the Winter Meetings, which is a social media feed concerning MLB transactions and rumors.

Fox MLB Transactions - The Big Board, as they call it, is a beautiful MLB transactions page and one of the few that allows you to sort by type of transaction: designated for assignment, outrighted to minors, placed on 60-day DL, purchased from minors, released, retired, sent to minors, signed as a free agent, signed to a minor league contract, trades, etc. You can also filter by date.

The Official MLB.com Transactions Page - The official MLB site is one of our favorite transaction pages as it is very clean and a lot of data fits into the screen. It is in order from most recent to oldest, but you can choose the date(s) you want to see as well as the specific teams you are interested in.

ESPN MLB Transactions - ESPN has a nice looking, well organized site for Major League Baseball transactions. Clicking the link brings you to their page which is ordered by most recent transaction(s). You can then filter it so you can see transactions that occurred in the previous 7 days as well as filtering transactions by team.

MLB Trade Rumors and Transactions - The title of this website says it all. If you are like us and discuss possible trades with your friends, then this is the site for you. Not only do they provide confirmed transaction data in the MLB, they also discuss trade rumors that are floating around the MLB circle. In other words, you may hear of a transaction before it even happens if you check out this site.

Wikipedia MLB Transactions - We head over to this page all the time because the MLB rules governing transactions are so confusing. Wiki provides everything you need to know about MLB transactions from Rule 5 drafts to Super 6 deadlines. If you do not know what I am talking about, I recommend clicking that link.

Staying up to date with transactions is extremely important, especially for daily fantasy baseball purposes. There is nothing worse than having a zero in your lineup because a player was sent down to the minors, and you had no idea.

Transactions also have other utilities as well. If a pitcher moves from the National League to the American League, you have a decent idea that he may struggle a bit more due to stronger hitting lineups and the designated hitter. The opposite is mainly true for hitters as well who move from the American League to the National League.

Ballpark factors also play a huge role in the implication of transactions. You want to analyze trades and free agent pickups by seeing how that player is affected by his new ballpark. If the hitter moves away from PETCO in San Diego, for instance, and lands in Coors Field in Colorado, you should take notice! Coors Field is a great hitter's park.

Anyway, you get the idea. Transactions are important as is staying up to date with all relevant information, which we also provide, like injuries, depth charts, etc. (These can be found in the left menu of this page).
