About Us
Who we are: RotoPicks was created by a group of fantasy sports enthusiasts from around the web who wanted more than just a "run of the mill" sports information site. The site's founders have been playing fantasy sports since 1988, nearly back to when the concept was created. One of us worked at the biggest fantasy sports stats service which was done through snail mail, until CBS (Commissioner.com) came along and knocked us out with their giant online presence. Needless to say, we've been around the block and know this game well!
With that being said, we've seen many sites come and go. We've also seen sites become giants only to fall and end up being a small pile of rubble. Instead of having a posting forum with racial slurs, cuss-words and flaming of others running rampant, the people behind this site had a vision of creating an online community of people who treated each other as if they were sitting in their living room watching games with them. Buddies, pals... comaraderie.
When we sat down to build RotoPicks, our number one goal was to produce a site where people could come to learn about fantasy sports. This includes the novice player who has never drafted a team all the way up to the true sports geek who plays at an advanced level.
We wanted to provide not only a place where you read articles offering tips, strategy and advice, but a site where you can get picks that will help you win your leagues. We also provide a "forum" (aka: Message Board) which is an interactive information exchange with people coming together from all over the world to provide regional information that you or I may not have access to in your/our respective part of the world.
Most importantly, we wanted to create a place where you can come to HAVE FUN and take your mind off the stressors of every day life. A place to hide from your wife and kids for a bit to gain some sanity back.
Our goal: Our goal is to provide a website where "all things fantasy" can be found. If you have a question, we want to be able to provide you with the answer. All free of cost to you!
How can you help? We obviously need money to survive and since we're giving away our picks at no cost to you, the best thing that you could ever do for us is to give back to the community by contributing by either becoming a member of our posting forum and/or signing up at our daily fantasy sports websites (our advertisers) and playing in leagues there. These companies are the ones that ultimately pay our bills. Once all costs are covered, we reinvest in the company through contests, perks to our volunteers and the addition of content to our website.
